Sharing the Daily Word

Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life.
Proverbs 4:23

Do you "guard your heart"?  God says that we should.  What does it mean to "guard your heart"?  I believe that many things are involved in the practice of guarding your heart.  Here are some examples: 1) Protecting your heart from evil.  Pay attention to the things that you read and watch.  Fill your heart with good things, uplifting songs, shows, books and media that are godly.  2) Protect your heart from the things that happen to you.  I do not mean blocking people out of your life or pretending that events have not occurred.  What I am talking about is the practice of letting God heal you.  Don't hold unforgiveness in your heart.  Give it to God and really forgive.  As you learn to guard your heart, you will begin to enjoy your life even more!
